Outfits of 2014

22V2

Sorry there aren't more outfits to share with you from 2014.. it's hard to look stylish with baby drool and spit-up all over you haha. I definitely take my hat off to girls like Mica from awayfromtheblue who uploads regular outfit posts looking uber stylish WHILE looking after her little bub. Girl - you are an inspiration!

Looking back on these pics, makes me miss my big belly haha - I never thought I would say that! Maybe I'm getting clucky again! :O

My style this year has been all about comfort, both during pregnancy and after, with leggings/jeggings, flat shoes, loose tops and cardigans. I wonder how next year's outfits will compare!

OOTD: Regrowth and Balding Baby

Ah finally Spring is here!! I've missed the warmer months so much! It's time to get outside and lap up the sun as much as I can. Today we're going to Floriade which is a local event that showcases a million flowers in bloom, its absolutely beautiful and the perfect way to spend a sunday afternoon.

I'm going very casual with my distressed jeans, loose fitted tee and statement gold/neon necklace. My hair regrowth is pretty terrible at the moment as I've decided to go back to my natural colour (dark blonde). I've been bleaching my hair since I was 16 so I figure it's time to give the old locks a break.. they've started to get all straw-like which is even less attractive than the regrowth!

While I'm growing out my hair, the little man is losing his :( All that heartburn I endured during pregnancy seems wasted now. I wonder when he'll start growing it back.. he looks like an old man with a receding hairline! haha.

OOTD: Freedom

.
.
.
Dorothy Perkins Black Brooke High Waist Jeggings, Ally Fashion Basic Tee,
Bardot Cardigan, Dorothy Perkins Black Lace Up Buckle Boots

I met up the girls for lunch yesterday without James and as much as I love spending time with the little guy, having just a few hours on my own was so nice. Being a mum is so full-on all the time that I think taking little breaks is necessary to "recharge".

I always love catching up with my friends and making time to see them is important to me. The only difference now that I'm a mum is that I have to organise meet-ups around James' schedule (usually during his nap time).

I wore my go-to mummy outfit.. high-waisted jeggings (to hide the belly) and my fave cardi/jacket that is perfect for breastfeeding (easy coverup and faux leather sleeves for dribbles!). I really need to invest in some more cardis like this.

On the agenda for today is a 1st Birthday (with fairy bread I hope!), going to the gym and a night in watching Orange is the New Black.

What are you up to today?

OOTD: Public Outing

.

Yesterday we ventured out with James for his first real public outing. We decided to go out for lunch and do a bit of shopping (how can I resist myer's one day sale!).

I was really nervous about taking him out, but it all went relatively smoothly. I even had my first public breastfeed (covered of course!).. despite the stares, I felt pretty comfortable.

While we were walking around the shopping centre, people came up to us and gushed about how cute James was and passed on their congratulations. Naaw people can be so nice.

I just wore this simple outfit. The jeggings are high-waisted which is great as it hides my tummy and doesn't cut-in to my c-section incision. I got them on sale from Dorothy Perkins (I'm obsessed I know!) for $30. To keep things casual, I just teamed them with sneakers, a loose fitting top and cardi.

This week, I'm going to attempt to head out for a few hours on my own to catch up with friends - I'm really looking forward to it. Who'd of thought leaving the house would be so exciting! haha.

OOTD: Lazy Sunday

.
.
.
Jeans West Maternity Jeans, Glamorous UK Flannel Shirt,
Trenery Flats, Parliament Beanie

I had such a great weekend catching up with family and friends... each time saying to them "ooh this might be the last time you see me before I have a baby!!!" How crazy is that!? :O

I've got just over 2 weeks to go and I can't wait! I'm getting so huge and uncomfortable... bub is taking up every inch of space in my belly and it does not feel good! haha. I just can't wait to meet him/her and cuddle the hell out of them!!

So this was my lazy sunday outfit that I wore to brunch with the girls. I ordered this shirt online from Glamorous UK and I have to say I'm pretty impressed! It's the first time I've bought anything from there and the quality is better than what I was expecting for a shirt that cost me $20! I love that it's not maternity too but is still big enough to fit over my bump. I think I wasted too much money on maternity clothes when all you really need to do it buy looser clothing (apart from my maternity jeans which I can't live without!)

What do you think of maternity clothes? Worth it or waste of money?

OOTD: Workin' Bump

.

.

.
Mu. Mu. Maternity Top, Cotton On Black Singlet, Target Maternity Pants,
Pop Basic Necklace, Trenery Flats

Only 2 more weeks left of work - Woohoo! I cannot wait to be outta there and on maternity leave! It's not really a holiday though, I'll just be switching to a new job... as mummy!

This is a typical maternity work outfit for me, comfort definitely comes first (so no high heels!). I tend to wear these black pants a lot so that I can wear my SRC maternity compression shorts underneath. They help with posture, back pain and pelvic pain. I picked them up on ebay for less than half the retail price and would recommend them to other pregnant ladies out there. I can definitely tell the difference when I stop wearing them for a few days (hello back pain!).

I also got the recovery shorts to wear after birth. They claim to help you regain your pre-baby body shape faster and increase mobility and pelvic muscle function. I'll have to let you know if they work! I tried them on the other day and oh my god they are TIGHT! haha hopefully I'll be able to squeeze into them after bub arrives.

So glad this week is a short one as every work day seems to be getting longer and harder. Oh well not long to go now.

I hope you've all got amazing plans for this Anzac long weekend!

High Tea & OOTD

Yesterday, I went for high tea with the girls to celebrate my friend Alejandra's 30th. It was such a beautiful sunny day and the food was amazing.

Alejandra also announced at high tea that she was pregnant!! I'm over the moon for her and so excited that I'll have someone to hang out with during maternity leave. I'm a people person and if left on my own for too long I go crazy haha. So having friends that I can make plans with during the week is fantastic.. we'll have our own little mother's group!

This is what I wore to high-tea...

Boohoo Rachel Tie Back Border Print Butterfly Maxi Dress, Cardigan from eBay, Ipanema thongs

I absolutely love this dress, it's so comfy and feminine. I actually wore this to my baby shower (and got a tonne of comments on it). I love that it's not a maternity dress either so I'll be able to wear it later on. It was super cheap too, only $35 - bargain!

Hey lovelies, sorry for the picture heavy post, but I wanted to share with you all the outfits I wore in 2012 (I've even included the bummy ones from overseas - where I LIVED in my thongs! haha).

I always find it interesting looking back at the things I wore, some outfits I still like and others I'm like.. "what was I thinking!?".

I'd be interested to know what your thoughts are and which outfit you liked most (if any)?

I still don't think I've quite worked out what my style is yet. I mean I know what I like and I know what I don't like but I'm not sure if I can describe my style in a word.

How about you? Can you describe your style in a word?

xx

PS. I hope you all have an amazing time celebrating the new year!!

Falling to Pieces

1 fdjsafdsj IMG_4465 v2 IMG_4520

Topshop Denim Shirt, Topshop Black Skater Dress, Airflex Booties, Parliament Bracelet, Vintage Guess Watch,
OPI Alpine Snow Nailpolish

I picked up this denim shirt from topshop in Melbourne, it was surprisingly the only thing I bought from there! I was expecting to buy a tonne but I found most things were a little overpriced and nothing really stood out to me (except for this denim shirt of course!). Denim shirts are an absolutely staple for me in Spring and Summer. They're lightweight, versatile and give your outfit a chic laidback vibe.

I'm over the moon for my sister and her fiance who have decided to get married next March in Fiji. They are the most adorable couple and I couldn't be happier for them both. Rob and I just booked our flights and accommodation and can't wait to go. I love spending time with my family (as sad as that sounds) and I just know my sister's wedding will be beautiful. She's been overseas for the last 7 months and I've been missing her so much! She gets back in a few weeks though so I won't have to miss her for much longer.

I hope you're all having an amazing week!

I Won't Let You Go..

American Apparel Tank, Zara Floral Bomber Jacket, Jay Jay Skinny Jeans,
Betts Centaur Wedges, Parliament Necklace

I am obsessed with this jacket! I love how colourful and girly it is! It's light weight too which makes it perfect for spring. It's a little hard to style though, which is why I've just paired it with jeans and a basic tank for now.

So I convinced my mum on the weekend to adopt a dog, she a terrier x jack russell and although I don't usually like jack russells' she's the cutest, sweetest little dog. She's 9 years old and was given up because her family moved away, so she's spent the last couple of month's at the pound and in foster care. She has the worst name though and I think it will be too hard for us to change it, seeing as she's had it for the last 9 years!.. HER name's Spike! That's right, this tiny little affectionate girl's name is Spike lol. Worst. Name. Ever. I keep acting like she's my dog, I even bought her a bed and toy! I think I'm just overly excited for my mum :)

I've been trying to convince Rob that we should foster a dog (I feel so bad for all the dogs at the pound) but he's worried about kit (our cat). I think she'll be fine but you never know..

Do you have a cat and dog? Do they get along okay?

xx

PS. I did a 'get ready with me' video to go with this outfit too, you should check it out and let me know what you think.

A Beautiful Life..

ASOS Swallow Print Peplum Top, Jay Jay Skinny Jeans, Ipanema Thongs,
Ray-Ban Sunnies

Argh so sorry I've been a baaaad blogger lately! Life just seems to be getting in the way of my blog (stupid life! haha).

Over the weekend I went to the coast to relax and unwind. I've been feeling a bit down lately because my skin's out of control and it's been knocking my self esteem around. I've been finding myself avoiding social situations.. which really sucks especially as we're coming into the social season! I thought it might just be the beauty products I was using but now I'm thinking that I've developed adult acne :( It's just so frustrating! I'm hoping to see a dermatologist soon to get it sorted.

This was a lazy outfit that I wore to the beach and out n about on the weekend. No jewellery or fancy accessories. Just thongs, jeans and a top. Simple. I do love wearing this top though, its so bright and playful.. and instantly puts me in a good mood.

I had such a nice time over the weekend... going to the beach, baking goodies, making delicious breakfasts (using fresh eggs from the chooks), going out for dinner, reading 50 shades of grey in the sunshine... mmmmm I wish every weekend was like this. It was perfect timing too because I just changed jobs! Today was my first day in my new job and it was great, everyone is soooo lovely and I'm actually looking forward to going to work instead of dreading it like I used to.

How was your weekend? What'd you get up to?

xx

PS. I did an 'OOTD' video to go with this outfit too, you should check it out and let me know what you think.
